On 5 December Léa and Sam take the TGV to Lyon for her mother's birthday dinner: for the first time, Hélène has promised to talk. At Part-Dieu station Sam picks up the wrong black suitcase. Léa attend Sam devant la gare de Lyon. Elle a un café dans une main et son sac dans l'autre. Elle n'a pas bien dormi. Elle a regardé le plafond toute la nuit.
Ce soir, elle va voir sa mère. Pour son anniversaire. Et pour parler. Enfin.
Dans son sac, il y a un cadeau, emballé dans du papier rouge. Elle l'a préparé hier soir, à l'atelier.
Sam arrive. Il court. Il a une grosse valise noire.
— Pardon ! J'ai raté le métro.
— Tu n'es pas en retard. Je suis en avance. Je suis nerveuse.
